About
In August 2019, I had the idea to create a cookbook for my family for Christmas. Fast forward to the end of November, and the book was in my hands! It was a whirlwind of cooking, baking, and photoshoots, finishing off with the pumpkin pie and stuffing I took to Thanksgiving. I even made quarter (sometimes eighth!) recipes of Christmas cookies earlier in the fall, just to get pictures. The beauty of that cookbook was that the recipes were mostly family recipes, so that part was taken care of.
This time, I want to create a cookbook that has more of my personal recipes in it. It’s nearly three years later and I have a kid of my own, and I really want to put recipes together that I think he’ll love and will remind him of his childhood. They’re also really good, so I know my family will love them, too. Plus, I had to edit the last one down a bit and left out some things and forgot some things, so this is the perfect opportunity to include them.
In this blog, I’ll be sharing the recipes and some extra photos, tips, and maybe a backstory or two (I promise I’ll put it after the actual recipe so you don’t have to scroll forever – I get that’s annoying!). I’ve also been documenting the cooking and photography process behind the scenes on my Instagram account @letsmakeacookbook if you’re into that side of things, too. Sometimes I think it helps to see something being made vs. just reading about it.
And so, if you’re into food, pretty simple recipes, and food photography, I hope you’ll stay awhile and follow along with me as I make a cookbook!
